Principal's Message - Bethany Owens

Welcome to Cherry Hills Village Elementary School!

Welcome to the 2023-2024 school year at Cherry Hills Village Elementary.  I am thrilled to be starting my third year as principal of this school that has such a legacy of excellence, dedication, care, and community.  One of the great strengths of this school is its long history of having an incredibly supportive community that empowers our staff with opportunities and access to staff, engaging programs (including physical education and the arts), innovative technology, and after school clubs and activities. 

The staff here at CHVE is a staff full of wisdom, experience, and a plethora of skills that engages students in authentic learning that grows them as academics and good humans.  At Cherry Hills Village, we believe that our job is to ensure that all kids thrive - that all kids are seen, valued, and feel connected to this school community.  

One way we will continue to foster this is through the use of our school-wide Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program that focuses on teaching and reinforcing behaviors that contribute to a positive, healthy, and safe learning environment.  We call these behaviors our High Fives: Be Safe, Be Ready, Be Respectful, Be Responsible, and Be Your Best Self.  We incorporate these behaviors into our daily learning, and will continue to help all students develop character, self-regulation, and executive functioning skills.  

As the leader of this school, I take the social emotional and physical safety of all very seriously, and commit to making this school a safe, inclusive, and joyful place for all of our staff, students, and families. 

I look forward to serving this community this year and making Cherry Hills Village the best experience for students possible!
